In the depths of winter there’s nothing quite like a hot drink. Maybe you need that extra caffeine boost in the morning to get going, want something warm in hand while hiking Brantford’s trails in the snow or just want that cozy feeling of curling up with a steaming mug of something delicious. For both connoisseurs and dabblers, there is nothing that can bring a smile across the lips quite like the perfectly blended cup of coffee or tea. In this B-LIST, we’re inviting you to get toasty with the following hot drinks below.

ALTITUDE COFFEE ROASTERS

Founded in 2019, this booming Brantford-based company is stocking shelves and filling cups across Ontario with their coffee. The passionate and amusing roasters Jim, Ryan and Thor have varying expertises to deliver the best product and customer service. If you’re looking to change up your daily coffee, they offer subscriptions of rotating blends that they will deliver to your door.

SEVENTH COFFEE COMPANY

A company with a purpose, these coffee-loving folks are socially responsible and promote transparency from sourcing to roasting to supporting causes. In addition to their brewing resources, handcrafted blends and subscriptions, you can also sign up for roastery tours and cupping classes at $30 each (and you get to take home a bag of your favourite coffee).

STEVE’S TEA COMPANY

In this clean and well-organized shop in Echo Place, you’ll find Steve of Steve’s Tea Company. This family-run company, which began as a tea cart in 2008, offers hundreds of looseleaf teas, 35 artisanal blends and all the accessories you need to enjoy a nice cup at home. Browse their extensive inventory of delightful blends online or instore. This tea company truly has a tea for every occasion.

DOG-EARED CAFÉ

This second-hand bookstore and cozy café is the place in Paris for art, literature, conversation and, of course, a good cup of coffee. Dog-Eared Café Original Coffee menu items include Flat Gold, Canadacano, Café Mole and Maple Oat Latte. While you’re there, join their book club – a loyalty program for used books where you can sell your books for a stamp that can be put toward the purchase of other books.

TEAS & TOASTS

Wear a fancy hat, grab your cup of destiny and make your next tea time a whimsical event with Andrea of Teas & Toasts. This tea maven does tea caterings from brunches to high tea for small gatherings as well as activities and workshops surrounding the notions of all things tea. You can even purchase a tea party to go from the website.

What’s in your cup?
