Brantford Street Art

The incredible street art and tags surrounding Brantford can be quite beautiful this time of year.

Whether the art has been commissioned or painted at someone’s own discretion, Brantford’s street art and graffiti are as diverse as the city. Building walls and river revetments are home to colourful compositions of images and words that are quick to entertain the eye. Go for a walk downtown or along the river and you are sure to see some of what Brantford has to showcase.

Despite some major cities in the world such as Lisbon, Montreal and Rio De Janeiro (just to name a few from the vast list) embracing street art and graffiti, the city of Brantford’s councillors have been working against it for some time. They have even pushed for property owners to remove graffiti from their buildings. One can tell there used to be more art visible in Brantford based on the mismatched paint that looks like bland scars on the city’s landscape.
