From the indestructible mind of Chad Leduc comes Tardigrade Press — Brantford’s local, independent comic book publisher. Founded in 2021, Tardigrade Press is named for the resilient and adaptable microorganism and is a reflection of Chad himself who suffered a traumatic brain injury two years ago. Through rehabilitation, Chad developed this creative collective.
To date, the focus genre of Tardigrade Press has been thrillers, horrors and high fantasy with titles such as “Sasquatch Klondike” by Chad Leduc and Johnny Cassidy, “Sasquatch Vikings” by Chad Leduc, Kirill Velikii and Darrell Sawatzky and “The Fatal Charades” by Bob Little, Darrell Sawatzky and Johnny Cassidy. The press corners a niche market of first contact encounters, but are open to submissions from independent creators with unique and creative perspectives.
In regard to our community, Tardigrade Press looks to inspire folks to follow their dreams and embrace their passions by connecting with their inner spark. One way this business achieves their dreams is through crowdfunding. They utilize Kickstarter which they find offers less risk for their creators and more rewards for their backers.

The next steps for Tardigrade Press include creating a diverse company collective as well as establishing a commercial print shop home base. By the end of 2022, they will have three new releases on Kickstarter: “Sasquatch Vikings 2,” “Sasquatch New Beginnings” and “Silver-Sparrow 1.”
